Tamworth, NH 03886
White Lake State Park offers some of the best swimming in the White Mountain region. The park lies along the shore of White Lake, which is an example of a typical glacial lake. During the Ice Age, glacial ice was buried beneath glacial till or debris. When the ice melted, a depression was created which gradually filled with water. Guests are welcome to enjoy a leisurely walk around the lake on a well-maintained foot path while looking for loons or signs of beaver activity, try their hand at the good trout fishing the lake provides or check out one of our types of boat rentals. The park offers a day-use area, group areas, and a campground with family campsites as well as youth group sites.
CAMPER NOTICE: Camping will transition to a primitive season starting 10/18 due to weather conditions. At that time, campers will no longer have access to flush toilets or potable water. Pit toilets will remain available.
Book your trip to White Lake Beach: Visitors can make a reservation before arriving at the park as parking is limited (especially on nice weekends and holidays). Walk-in spaces are available for visitors on a first come/first-serve basis. Reservations can be made up to 30 days prior to arrival.
Parks Plate & Season Pass: There are desiganted spaces set aside for plate/pass holders on a first-come/first-serve basis. Reservations are still encouraged in the event a park reaches capacity (requiring a $1 transaction fee).
NH Senior Citizens: To receive a discount at our per person fee locations, enter the number of NH Senior Citizens in the vehicle/occupant information section of the order details page, rather than the number of adults.
Dates and times are weather dependent and subject to change without notice. For up to date hours, please call the park directly.
