Hermit Woods Winery is a small boutique winery located at 72 Main Street, Meredith, NH that developed out of a partnership between Bob Manley, Ken Hardcastle, and Chuck Lawrence. Together, we strive to make wines of the highest quality with the greatest emphasis on locally grown fruit and raw honey. We have a small organic vineyard in Sanbornton and we work closely with local farmers and pickers to find the best possible fruit, ideally organic, to make our wine with.  We make our wine available in our tasting room and local wine shops and restaurants in our surrounding communities.

Some of the many wines currently in production include: Apple, Crabapple, Blueberry, Mead, Kiwi, Peach, Pear, Blackberry, Elderberry, and various blends of all the above.   These are just a few of the many varieties of fruit we produce.  We seek to identify the depth and breadth of fruit that can be found in abundance in our local community and make the best wine we can from it.

On a much smaller scale and prior to 2014 we purchased traditional Vitas Viniferous grapes from South America to craft wines made in the traditional French style, including Cabernet Sauvignon, carmenère, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, and various blends.  We no longer import grapes from other regions. However, the techniques that we learned working with traditional grapes have taught us the skills necessary to improve the quality of all our wines.

We are very passionate about every aspect of producing wine, but more importantly, we love sharing our wine and the experience we have making it with our guests.   We hope our wines bring you the same enjoyment we’ve had making them. Visit us at our winery or on the web at www.hermitwoods.com, or join us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/hermitwoods and share the experience with us.

We are open for tastings and tours year round, please see our hours on the right, or call ahead 603.253.7968.

We enjoyed lunch on patio on a beautiful blue sky Fall day at Hermit Woods Winery. My wife had their grilled cheese and I had the Cuban on toasted ciabatta. It typically is served on rye, but I asked for the ciabatta. The sandwiches were thick and delicious with delicious soft, fresh bread and the house chips. I also enjoyed a glass of Hermit Woods Hermitage dry red wine. I can't tell you all the different berries that were in it, but it was also delicious, and my wife enjoyed the Pours and Pedals lemonade and iced tea. Our servers were attentive and helpful and our lunch was very enjoyable. We'll be back for more!

We did every flight and found something fantastic in each and had the fruit and cheese crostini. The dessert flight with chocolates are also delectable. They sell bottles and the chocolate inside. The service is impeccable and it’s great to sit out on the front deck.

Ahhh!!!! If I could give 6 stars I would! This place is absolutely incredible for so many reasons. The wine is excellent! I'm a wine drinker (not a connoisseur though, haha), and this is some of the best wine I've had. The service has been so genuine and speedy. The location is awesome, and the outdoor seating makes for a wonderful atmosphere. The tasting was fun and had a lot of variety. The cheese board, oh man, let me tell you about this cheese board... This thing is a work of art. The flavors were unreal, and SO well paired. Anytime I'm in the area I will be back, and will tell all my friends to visit.

The tasting was 16.95 pp. you get either 6 pours or a split of 3 each. We each got the six, but could probably have gotten three because we ordered a lot of the same ones. The website says 6 ten ounce pours, but there is no way that the pours we had were ten ounces. Not even remotely close. My favorite was the strawberry rhubarb rosé After our tasting, we bought a bottle and a charcuterie. Everything was delicious except for that the wine comes in a carafe and without an ice bucket so we had to drink it up before it got warm. I LOVE that the waitstaff is paid a fair wage and that you don’t have to tip. I also like that they don’t take your card to the back, they take all payments at the table. Those are pluses for me. I probably wouldn’t do the tasting again, but I would 100% go back for a bottle and a charcuterie snack.

Wine tasting was reasonably priced for decent pours. The unique flavors are delicious. Mead, wine and an aged desert blueberry wine were all favorites. Left with a few bottles since we couldn’t pick!
